Connect4Climate is proud to report that the Peruvian INKAFEST Mountain Film Festival, held from August 28th - September 6th, highlighted Connect4Climate’s Action4Climate short documentary competition.
INKAFEST creates an important platform for exchanging ideas between filmmakers, athletes, and the public, supporting artistic and effective ways of telling stories about the mountain world. The aim of this festival is to highlight the importance of ecology, preservation of mountains, and the environment in today’s world, particularly it in Peruvian region, an area known for adventure sports and mountaineering.
This year's program featured thirty-four films from seventeen countries that celebrated mountain sports, adventure, environment, and culture. An exclusive selection of sixteen Action4Climate films featuring winners and entries from Latin America, were screened in Lima and Arequipa as part of the special section of the festival dedicated to the environment.
Although the festival dates are over, INKAFEST has not ended! Later this year, INKAFEST will tour several cities in Peru, featuring the best of the 2015 program. This will include the Action4Climate selection as well as other films, exhibitions, and workshops.
The films are a great intoduction to some of the critical issues to be discussed at the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and IMF that will take place in Lima in October, and we're proud to have the work of our talented filmmakers from all over the world be part of INKAFEST.
